Salt Cod and Pork Scraps










A traditional Salt Cod and Pork scraps dinner from a Newfoundland family recipe is sure to become one of your favourite seafood meals.  I hope you enjoy it!

1 lb. salt cod

6 large potatoes

1 c.salt pork scraps

2 large onions black pepper to taste


Soak cod overnight, drain and cook with potatoes, cutting both into bite size pieces.  Boil in water for 1/2 hour.

Fry pork scraps until golden brown.  Dice onions, then brown in the pan with the pork scraps. 

Drain water from the cod and potatoes. 

Combine with onions and pork scraps and toss with black pepper.
